First and Foremost...

So I read Curt Schilling's "38 Pitches" this morning and I decided that it was time for me to crack. I've never understood the infatuation people have with blogging---but it seems to be a good venue to vent and get some thoughts down now that I don't have as much time to seriously write as much as I used to.

In a sense, Curt Schilling changed my view. So if he's ever out there and he stumbles upon this blog---I owe him my "thanks". Also sir---loved what you had to say about Kobe Bryant and in answer to your questions: "no" professional players are not supposed to act the way he does. If you want to see a real Captain and a real MVP you have only to look around your own locker room.

For those of you who don't know much about me: I'm sort of a big deal. (Kidding!!)

There are a handful of people out there (they know who they are :) ...) who not so long ago fashioned a nickname for me, (for which this blog is named after...) started to spread the news about me to the land, created a sort of "legend" about me and welcomed me with open arms into their community, making me feel better about myself than I had felt in years.

Everyone feels nice when they're legendary---so thanks all! Keep it coming! Love the "2-2-2" handshake and everything!

I'd like to take this moment to express my love for Jillian Burger. I love her so much! I first want to thank her for being cute- and secondly, if you've come to this blog for juicy tidbits about our relationship than you've arrived at the wrong place. Christ and Communication are cornerstones for relationships---and if I have something to say that I can't communicate in words to her: than I'm not being a very good boyfriend, or regular friend for that matter. (Nobody likes it when others talk about them behind their backs...) You won't find any chestnuts about my personal life here.

For those that keep up with my posts, if I do in fact keep up with them, you'll learn soon enough how this blog will work and whether or not you'll be coming back for more. I tend to be chock full of useless knowledge though- so I'm sure I'll be churning out enough of it to have you coming back for more!

Sports/Baseball Rumors:
I had to check out El Guapo's Ghost this morning and I read and interesting post on their update wall. Apparently the Cleveland Indians are thinking about shopping around plus-sized left handed ace, C.C. Sabathia. They've sent scouts to the Red Sox minor and major league clubs and there seems to be some interest. Sabathia isn't having the best year of his career---but he has had flashes of brilliance (see: 2007). If the Sox can get him (buying low, while he sucks of course---don't give up Masterson!!!) it may something that works out in the long term. Imagine a staff that features Beckett (back to form), Matszuaka, Sabathia, Buchholz/Lester/Masterson and Wakefield at the back-end? Holy guacamole!!

No idea what truth there is to this rumor---and not to discredit to "El Guapo's Ghost" but I do not believe they're known for their groundbreaking investigative work. But hey- if they're right---they're right!

I've also heard rumblings that Adam Dunn may be coming to Boston. The up and down power-hitter from Cincinnati hasn't ever panned out into the type of player he was projected to be and he's injured a lot---but if David Ortiz ends up being out longer than we think (season ending?) it might be nice to have Dunn in the line up as a power-hitting DH or a quality bat off the bench. (Where is Bobby Kielty anyway? Still recuperating?) Again, who knows the truth to any of this.

Television:
As summer is upon us there isn't much by way of the TV set. I have thoroughly enjoyed the NBA playoffs and I can say that I have never truly enjoyed the NBA until this year. And yes, I did watch the Celtics even when they sucked last season because they had drafted Ryan Gomes from PC. So don't you dare call me a bandwagon- although I do call myself one since I was never 100% "in" to the Celtics unless they were in the playoffs. (Antoine Walker can you hear me???) Other than the "Big-3" I'm a big fan of PJ Brown and Eddie House. I like Brown's back story and I like Eddie House's son on the Celtics Bench wearing a child-sized baggier version of his dad's jersey.

So, did "Scrubs" end? Or didn't it? I have heard it's returning for an eighth season on ABC---but will the regular cast be involved? And what the heck happened this season?
With the strike I completely lost track---weren't they supposed to be answering all of the final questions?

+What was the Janitor's real name? Did they ever tell us?
+Did JD end up back with his baby's mama or did he end up Elliot?
+What happened to Dr. Kelso after he quit/retired?
+Is Zach Braff returning for another season, or is "Scrubs" returning without him?

I don't know the answers to any of these---guess I'll wait for the DVD. A great show- but I wasn't too impressed by this season, considering the strike and the fact that it was supposed to be the last season, pulling out all the stops.

On a side not---am I comma happy? The answer is: YES.

Movies:
Mark my words, now that I have an outlet to review movies on---people will be feening for my reviews. That being said I haven't seen anything lately. The newest movie I've gone to see was Indiana Jones and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The film wasn't any more or any less than I thought it would be.

For the first time (maybe ever) I waited for a movie, hyped it up in my mind and it actually lived up to expectations. I say: See it.

Iron Man was a movie that I wasn't too excited about to begin with. I can't look you in the eye and tell you honestly that I'm a fan of the Iron Man comics but what intrigued about the movie was the cast, namely, Robert Downey Jr. I've been a fan of Downey since "Two Girls and a Guy" a great little film featuring the major cast members all together in one room/apartment for the entirety of the plot. I love movies or TV shows ("Friends") that can take place in one room and keep you interested throughout.

The movie was fantastic, if not a bit corny with the CGI effects at the end- but the end is really the only place that CGI is used exclusively. Jon Favreau had commented on how little animation was used- and he was right!

Robert Downey Jr. plays the perfect Tony Stark and all of his intricacies. Much like Johnny Depp did for Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, I don't think I could see anybody else but Downey playing Tony Stark. It's a good thing the academy award winning actor has been quoted as saying he's do "fifteen" Iron Man films if Marvel Film studios would have him. It would be tough for Iron Man to make fifteen installments. If they did, it would certainly be "the Simpsons" of the movie world---that long running series that just won't go away and still manages to remain fresh.

Skadoosh---I'm looking most forward to Kung Fu Panda and hopefully my lady takes me to see it soon.

But I will probably see The Incredible Hulk tomorrow. Can Ed Norton make me believe in a franchise that already sucks before I see it? Maybe not- but Downey's cameo as Tony Stark will keep me interested at least until it comes and passes. (They are now showing it in previews for the film, I guarantee you that's the one and only scene featuring Downey and I also gaurantee that it's the scene in full that they're showing us...)

Anywhoo----

More to come!
